One-line summary
An individual-run, non-commercial, source-linked aggregator. No company, no investors, no sponsored content. If that ever changes, it will be stated here first.
What this site is
ChinaHardTech collects notable Chinese AI / LLM / hard-tech outputs — open-source releases, papers, and robotics work — and presents each one with a transparent Adoption & Maintainability Index (AMI), a short list of Red Flags, and lighter alternatives. The defining rule is that every number links to a primary source: a paper, a repository, or a journal record — never to another news story.
We are deliberately narrow. We do not cover everything happening in Chinese tech; we cover what we can source and verify. The Known limits page is honest about where the coverage is thin.
Who runs it
Because there is no corporate entity, there is no sales team, no PR contact, and no "partnerships" inbox. The fastest way to reach the editor is the correction queue below.
Your data & privacy
- We do not run analytics that identify you. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels.
- The newsletter form does not collect email. It was removed after we found it implied sign-up without transmitting anything. There is no list, and no address has ever been stored by this site.
- Corrections are minimal. The "Report a correction" form stores the message you submit and nothing else (no IP is logged by the site). See the Correction policy.
Legal & disclaimers
ChinaHardTech is an editorial project, not a news organisation, a laboratory, or a financial adviser. Nothing here is engineering, business, legal, or investment advice. Performance numbers are the authors' own measurements, which we have not independently reproduced.
Red Flags and the AMI score are editorial analysis, not endorsements, produced with AI assistance and reviewed by a human. They are a starting point for your own reading of the primary source — not a verdict. Linked content is published by third parties; we are not the publisher of any linked material, and copyright stays with the authors.
If you are a lab or institution and believe a card misrepresents your work, we will correct it or remove it at your request — your call. Use the form below.

The report page writes straight to the editorial queue — read and actioned by the operator, not lost in an inbox. If you are reporting an error, a link to the primary source settles it fastest.
